The R22 phase out has begun, with virgin R22 refrigerant banned in January 2010.Now the clock is ticking to replace existing R22 refrigerant systems, before supplies of reprocessed R22 become too scarce for effective system maintenance, and ultimately before the total ban on R22 in 2015.

costs of reclaimed R22 as demands increase. Risk
of a long down-time when no R22 is available. Investing
in completely new systems in place of fully functional existing equipment. High
costs and disruption to the working environment if a replacement schedule is
not put into place. Retrofitting
